Wow. I'm fat.

Boy, is it humbling to be told the truth. It's sad how the "beautiful face, great personality & fabulous mom, all fall to the wayside when weight rears it's ugly rear. Phew. Now, do I bury my humiliation in sugar & carbohydrates or RALLY and work my bootie off. Actually, my first reaction is to cry and wanna hide. Then I'll go and clean my house. The reality isn't always an extreme. Subtle and quiet. I hate being fat.

I hate laundry II

The first thing I will do, when I start making bank, is to hire a house cleaner with the first and foremost important task of folding and putting away our laundry. I'll label all of our drawers & let go of any folding style preferences. Just do it. Please. I can't take it anymore!!!!!!

I hate laundry

OMG I missed school!!!!!

Last Monday was a gift from God. My kids went back to school after 2 full weeks of holiday schoolessness. I nearly fell into the arms of my 3rd grader's teacher, hugging her as if she were Life itself. My eyes felt moist with tears of joy. O'my God, you have not foresaken me! Thank you, thank you! I can't tell you how badly I want American schools to become year round systems. With the advent of modern living requiring kindergartners to write full paragraphs about Deuteronomy to get into 1st grade, and the archaic school year based on an agricultural society, it's wonder that it's not government mandated. OK... I lied about the Deuteronomy part, but not about the absurd expectation that a 6 year old will write a full paragraph by the end of the K-year. I ask you, Bay Area bretheren, when was the last time you needed your kids help to plow/till/harvest your fields? Yup.

Some days, I just bump into the walls...

as I walk in circles, caught in my own brain fart (a.k.a. overstimulation/overwhelm). It's a good Red Flag to tell me to stop and go have some fun. Must have fun to function.

Pony or Poo?

Isn't this the metaphor for Life? In looking through the Chaos (A.K.A., Life) are we looking for that elusive Pretty Pony or just muddling through the Poo? The Christmas Season seems to really bring the question to a visual fore front. Aren't we all looking for something? And isn't it all just your attitude? Granted, Life Events/Situations can definitely sway your attitude one way or another, and I would list chronic to severe mental illness as the exception to the rule. With these 2 elements aside, are we not in charge of how we view our experience? And isn't it what we do with our choices that really matter? Hmmm... More deep thoughts with Suzette McD.
