And I call it: My Weekly Cleaning Team. Holy Krakatoa!, Can I tell you how awesome it is to have someone else help me!!!! OMG... Laundry will probably always be my nemesis, but the rest of the house is under my control!!!! I'm telling you, this is the Bomb, the Shit, the BFD of all BFD's. I'm lovin' it. One clean crib for my peeps. One huge step towards my sanity. I'm a new person. You may call me "Free".

Coming up for air...

Ahhh... It's been a while since I lasted posted. Duh. If God only gives you what "He" thinks you can handle, then I wish he didn't think so much of me all the time! Scheeesh. With that said, I am grateful every second of the day to not live in Afghanistan and my kids are above average. I'm beginning to see the patterns of the decades. Meaning, our twenties are for being full of youth, trying on different ideas & discovering yourself, shades of teenage angst, and potential. The Thirties are about getting more serious about the meaning of Life, considering the future, watching what you eat, exercise as a necessity rather than a way to simply appeal to a sexual partner, to have or not have kids, and realize your parents aren't so stupid. And now the Forties. Our parents are aging, our kids aren't babies anymore and we're having to discuss drugs, violence, teen pregnancy, fame, and language that would make a seasoned hooker blush. Old peoples issues, like, arthritis, hysterectomies, "old" injuries, are starting to appear. Even friends and family members are dying from heart attacks and aneurythms. We also get to be more forgiving, less judgemental and more flexible in our reactions. Divorce, 2nd marriages and mixed families/2nd families are occurring. Mid life crisis' are in vogue. Is it a crisis or simply opening your eyes/mind for the first time in a long while? I see this as the Time for Re-Evaluating. Gotta love the Talking Heads: "this is not my house, this is not my beautiful wife! My God, How did I get here!!" Wake up 40!!!

The Zen of Laundry

OMG. It just never ends. I'm literally staring at 10 loads of laundry to fold and put away. The temptation to slit my wrists is palpable. Was I born soley for the purpose of menial mindless mindfullness? I hate this. Why can't we be covered in dazzling luxurious fur and be rid of clothing? I would still be in business and everyone would be freed up of hours of toiling. I say revolt!!! Grow body hair!!!!! Ugh.

Wow. I'm fat.

Boy, is it humbling to be told the truth. It's sad how the "beautiful face, great personality & fabulous mom, all fall to the wayside when weight rears it's ugly rear. Phew. Now, do I bury my humiliation in sugar & carbohydrates or RALLY and work my bootie off. Actually, my first reaction is to cry and wanna hide. Then I'll go and clean my house. The reality isn't always an extreme. Subtle and quiet. I hate being fat.

I hate laundry II

The first thing I will do, when I start making bank, is to hire a house cleaner with the first and foremost important task of folding and putting away our laundry. I'll label all of our drawers & let go of any folding style preferences. Just do it. Please. I can't take it anymore!!!!!!

I hate laundry

OMG I missed school!!!!!

Last Monday was a gift from God. My kids went back to school after 2 full weeks of holiday schoolessness. I nearly fell into the arms of my 3rd grader's teacher, hugging her as if she were Life itself. My eyes felt moist with tears of joy. O'my God, you have not foresaken me! Thank you, thank you! I can't tell you how badly I want American schools to become year round systems. With the advent of modern living requiring kindergartners to write full paragraphs about Deuteronomy to get into 1st grade, and the archaic school year based on an agricultural society, it's wonder that it's not government mandated. OK... I lied about the Deuteronomy part, but not about the absurd expectation that a 6 year old will write a full paragraph by the end of the K-year. I ask you, Bay Area bretheren, when was the last time you needed your kids help to plow/till/harvest your fields? Yup.

Some days, I just bump into the walls...

as I walk in circles, caught in my own brain fart (a.k.a. overstimulation/overwhelm). It's a good Red Flag to tell me to stop and go have some fun. Must have fun to function.
